Pre-Natal Massage

During pregnancy, massage can be very beneficial for both mother and baby. Carrying a baby can be challenging. By adding frequent massage therapy visits, increases many health benefits to assist for a happy and healthy full term pregnancy.

Prenatal massage shares many of the same benefits of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, improves blood circulation, mobility, reducing stress and just make you feel better overall. Pre-natal massage is tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. Blood circulation is key in reducing the chance of varicose veins, cramping and swelling while relieving muscle and joint pain.

What can I expect?

Prenatal massage is very similar to regular massage except for certain body positioning for a more comfortable and relaxing experience. Certain techniques and positioning with massage pillows are adjusted accordingly to the needs for mom especially during the last trimester.

How long is a session?

Therapy can be 1, 1.5 or 2 hours depending on the needs for Mom.

(Pre-natal massage is not suggested and is a contraindication during the 1st trimester unless under the care of a physician.)
