Neural Manipulation Therapy
French Osteopath Alain Croibier collaborated with Jean-Pierre Barral to develop Neural Manipulation. The courses are based on clinical techniques personally developed by Jean-Pierre Barral combined with Alain Croibier’s scientific information.
Neural manipulation (NM) is a manual therapy that identifies and releases nerve restrictions and fixations throughout the body. “Neural” refers to the nervous system of the body, which includes the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. This delicate system acts as a communication highway throughout the body and when it’s not operating properly, pain and loss of function can occur. (NM) identifies local nerve restrictions and fixation while examining their effects on the rest of the body.
A nerve only functions correctly when it is able to move freely within its surrounding structures for optimal functionality. The modality of Neural Manipulation facilitates nerve conductivity and intraneural blood supply for local and systemic responsiveness.
This manual therapy, as it applies to the treatment of nerves, follows the standard principles of mobility and function. This freedom of movement is essential for:
Neural Manipulation is beneficial for various disorders such as:
What can I expect?
NM is a soft, hands-on manual therapy with precise gentle engagement, mobilization and elongation of the soft tissues, and most specifically the nerves. With light application of NM techniques releases dysfunctional nerve conductivity, functionality and re-establishes communication from the nerve to the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves improving it’s ability to adapt and restore itself to optimal health.
How many sessions will I need?
As each person’s health needs are uniquely different, the number of visits will vary. Many people experience significant improvement within three to five therapy sessions; others may require additional treatment. Depending how your body responds to the treatment determines the length of therapy. Our moto is: “ Listen to what your body says”.
How long is a session?
Normally your first session is 1 1/2 hours, then additional sessions are 1 full hour. Every plan is tailored to meet your specific needs.
